"To be confident, show of what talent that I have and not to be nervous about it."
I have always been a confident person and have my own style of doing things, I really took on board what the director wanted from me which made me nervous as I had to try and get it spot on. As time went on during rehearsals I began to put more of myself into the performances I was taking part in.  When you are enjoying something or have worked hard on something for a long period of time, the results show on stage.

"Try things outside my comfort zone".
When on stage I prefer to be comfortable and in comfy clothes, THIS however was NOT the case. In lady marmalade I had to wear fishnets (A thing I think should be left for elsewhere!!)and a short dress, again, I would normally wear leggings with etc...I am quite self conscious body wise and "getting it out" in this type of environment was a hard experience. I don't think I would do it again but to understand why I felt this way and how I overcome it, was a positive outcome.

"Apply things that I have learnt outside of the course to involve"
Learning tips and extra things outside of college helps with when the performance was about to happen things such as:

  • How to store your clothes and area and line everything up in order of performance, so when you are in the performance everything is in order.
  • Where to find you mic prior to the performance.
  • How to attach the mic to your body and where it is best suited
  • TO ALWAYS CARRY TAPE :)
  • To learn lines early on so the devising of movements is made so much easier when lines are known.
